Buying Ukrainian Hryvnias was always not an easy task for foreign nationals in Ukraine. However, for the period of Euro-2012 the procedure of foreign currency exhange in Ukraine has been significantly simplified. From now on it will be processed more quicker. Last week in a move to streamline foreign exhange transactions for the guests of the football festival, Ukrainian banks were exempted from the obligation to issue to foreign nationals the so-called 377 Certificate which was the only document that allowed them to make subsequent reverse exhange of Hryvnias.
After the amendments come into force (8 June) and until 10 July 2012 the reverse exhange of unspent Ukrainian currency will be possible upon presenting to the bank a valid ID and the bank receipt issued to a foreign national during the original exchange transaction.
