"We were established to legally protect your rights and support your interests"
As of 15 August 2012, foreign attorneys are eligible to practice law in Ukraine. This is made possible by the new law “On Bar and Advocacy,” adopted by the Ukrainian Parliament in July 2012.
Foreign attorneys seeking admission to the Ukrainian Bar must submit their attorney’s license or any other document that proves their right to practice law in their home country to the local admission boards. Subsequently, the information on foreign attorneys admitted to the Ukrainian Bar is to be transmitted into the Unified Register of Attorneys of Ukraine.
Foreign attorneys will enjoy all rights and duties provided for national attorneys by Ukrainian law.
Foreign attorneys, as well as, Ukrainian attorneys shall be held responsible for committing a disciplinary offence. Depending on the gravity of the offence committed by the foreign attorney one of the following penalties can be imposed: admonition, suspension of the right to practice law in Ukraine for a specified period or expulsion from the Unified Register of Attorneys of Ukraine. It should also be noted that once a penalty is imposed, the relative authority of a foreign state where the foreign attorney is qualified to practice law should be officially notified.
